45 minThink of these as magic bars with a marshmallow twist. A buttery graham cracker crust spiked with brown sugar and a pinch of nutmeg gets pressed into the pan and par-baked until golden.
Then comes the triple treat: chocolate chips, flaked coconut, and chopped walnuts get scattered over the warm crust in a generous heap.
The whole thing gets drizzled with marshmallow cream thinned with milk and vanilla, which bakes into a gooey, stretchy web that binds all those layers together.
One batch makes 32 squares, so there is plenty for sharing. If they last that long.
Kitchen Tips
- Press the graham cracker crust firmly and evenly with the flat bottom of a measuring cup. A loose crust crumbles when you cut the squares.
- Thin the marshmallow cream just enough to drizzle. Too much milk and it runs off the toppings instead of clinging to them.
- Cool completely before cutting or the bars will fall apart. Patience is the hardest ingredient here.
- Toast the coconut flakes in a dry skillet first for extra nutty flavor if you want to take these over the top.
