30 minIf you’ve ever had a box of See’s Candies, you know what real fudge should taste like: dense, creamy, and intensely chocolatey.
This copycat recipe delivers that same melt-in-your-mouth richness. A boiling sugar and evaporated milk syrup gets poured over a bowl of marshmallow cream, melted margarine, and a whopping three packages of chocolate chips. Stir until everything melts together, fold in nuts and vanilla, and pour into buttered pans.
It makes about 5 pounds of fudge, which sounds like a lot until you start handing it out during the holidays and realize it disappears in no time.
Pro Tips
- Use a candy thermometer if you have one. The sugar mixture should reach a full rolling boil and hold it for 7 to 8 minutes, stirring constantly so it doesn’t scorch.
- Cut the fudge into squares while it’s still slightly soft. If you wait until it’s fully set, it can crack and crumble.
- Swap walnuts for pecans or leave the nuts out entirely depending on your crowd.
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge. It keeps well for up to two weeks.
