This curried tuna salad packs a flavor punch with sweet and savory mix-ins that transform ordinary canned tuna into something crave-worthy.

Crisp apple cubes add juicy crunch, while almonds and raisins bring texture and natural sweetness. Cucumber keeps things refreshing, and the whole thing gets bound together with tangy yogurt spiked with warm curry powder. Mix it up, chill for 20 minutes, and you’ve got four servings of protein-rich lunch ready to go.

Serve it on lettuce leaves with tomato slices for a light meal, or stuff it into whole wheat pitas for portable sandwiches.

Kitchen Tips

  • Drain tuna very well and flake it with a fork (big chunks don’t mix as evenly)
  • Cube apples just before mixing to prevent browning, or toss with a squeeze of lemon
  • Use plain Greek yogurt for extra protein and thickness
  • Taste and adjust curry powder to your preference (start with less if you’re curry-shy)
  • Let it chill for at least 20 minutes so flavors meld together

Variations

  • Swap almonds for walnuts, pecans, or sunflower seeds for nut-free options
  • Use dried cranberries instead of raisins for tart sweetness
  • Add diced celery or red bell pepper for extra crunch and color
