1 hrsApple pizza turns dessert on its head in the best way possible, giving you all the flavors of apple pie in a fun, shareable format.
Frozen bread dough thaws and presses into a pizza pan, gets spread with sweetened cream cheese, then piled with cinnamon apples and a buttery almond streusel.
It bakes up like a giant apple danish, crispy on the edges and gooey in the middle.
Kitchen Tips
- Let the dough rest for 15 minutes after pressing it out so it relaxes and doesn’t spring back
- Spread the cream cheese mixture right to the edges so it creates a barrier between the crust and wet apples
- Slice the apples thin so they cook through in the 40-minute baking time without making the crust soggy
Ingredients
Directions
Place bread dough on greased 12 inch deep dish pizza pan.
When thawed completely, pat dough on bottom and ½ inch up sides of pan.
Let rest 15 minutes.
Combine cream cheese, ¼ cup sugar, egg and vanilla until smooth.
Spread over bottom of crust.
Combine apples, ⅔ cup sugar, ¼ cup flour and cinnamon.
Arrange evenly over cream cheese mixture.
In a small mixing bowl, combine ⅓ cup flour and brown sugar.
Cut in margarine until mixture is crumbly.
Add almonds. Sprinkle evenly over apples.
Bake at 350℉ (180℃) for about 40 minutes, or until golden brown.
Serve warm or cold, with whipping cream, whipped topping or ice cream.
