Quick Teriyaki Sauce (Homemade)

Many recipes call for bottled Teriyaki sauce. This flavorful sauce that imparts so much flavor to beef, chicken and fish is so easy to make from scratch.

sweet Japanese cooking wine (Asian section of market) substitute sweet sherry *

Directions
Add the soy sauce, sugar, sake (or white wine), mirin (or sweet sherry), ginger, garlic and cornstarch to a small saucepan.
Whisk together. Heat to the boil. Cook for 1 or 2 minutes.
Remove from heat and cool.
This makes a wonderful marinade or finishing sauce to anything that needs a bit of zing.
