Crisp cucumbers and juicy tomatoes coat tender penne in a tangy dill-lemon dressing that gets better as it sits in the fridge.

Toss warm pasta with crunchy cukes and ripe tomatoes, then slather everything in a creamy dill dressing spiked with lemon pepper.

This pasta salad hits that sweet spot where fresh vegetables stay crisp while the noodles soak up all that herbaceous tang.

Make it ahead for barbecues or picnics; the flavors only deepen as they mingle.

Pro Tips

  • Rinse cooked pasta under cold water to stop the cooking and keep it from getting mushy
  • Peel cucumbers if the skin is thick or waxy for better texture
  • Chill for at least 45 minutes so the dressing can penetrate every pasta curve
  • Add extra lemon pepper just before serving for a brightness boost
