Apple Meatloaf
Submitted by G.P.
Lean ground beef meatloaf studded with chopped apples and onions. The fruit adds subtle sweetness and keeps the loaf moist without extra fat. Make patties instead for quick weeknight burgers.

Chopped apples mixed right into lean ground beef keep the loaf incredibly moist while adding just a hint of sweetness that plays beautifully with onions and garlic salt.
Bake it as a traditional loaf, or form into patties and pan-fry for a quicker weeknight meal.
Pro Tips
- Soak bread in cold water, squeeze out all the moisture, then shred it before mixing so it binds without getting gummy
- The apples release moisture as they cook, so lean beef works perfectly here without drying out
- For crispy exteriors on patties, roll them in breadcrumbs before pan-frying or broiling
Ingredients
Directions
Preheat oven to 350℉ (180℃).
Combine all ingredients except bread. Soak bread in cold water, squeeze out moisture, shred, and add. Place in loaf pan and bake 25 to 30 minutes.
Or form into patties, roll in bread crumbs and pan fry, or broil.
