Frozen strawberries in syrup get blended smooth with chilled grapefruit juice, and that’s the whole recipe. The strawberry syrup rounds out the grapefruit’s natural bite, while the grapefruit keeps the drink from tipping into overly sweet territory.
Serve it over ice for a refreshing gulp on a hot afternoon, or pour it into tall glasses for a brunch spread that goes way beyond orange juice.
Kitchen Tips
- Partially thaw the strawberries before blending for a smoother consistency
- Blend with the first cup of grapefruit juice to break down the berries, then add the rest to mix evenly
- Add a splash of sparkling water for a fizzy spritzer version
- Freeze in popsicle molds for a tangy frozen treat the kids will love
