45 minAll the flavor of a cheeseburger, none of the bun-and-grill routine. These sliders tuck seasoned ground beef and melty cheese inside flaky crescent rolls, then bake into warm, handheld bites that work just as well for game day as for a fast family dinner.
The shortcut seasoning is onion soup mix, stirred right into the browning beef so the filling tastes savory and oniony without measuring out a spice rack. Once the meat is cooked, draining the grease well is the step that keeps the crescent dough from going soggy underneath.
Mixing the cheese into the still-warm beef means it’s gooey and melted in the center of every bite. Spoon the filling onto crescent triangles, add a little relish, wrap, and bake until golden. Serve them with a swirl of ketchup and mustard for dipping, and watch them disappear off the tray.
Kitchen Tips
- Drain the browned beef well; excess grease makes the crescent dough soggy instead of flaky.
- Seal the crescent edges around the filling so it doesn’t leak out as it bakes.
- Cut the triangles smaller for bite-size party portions, or leave them whole for a heartier dinner.
Variations
- Add chopped pickles, diced onion, or a dab of mustard inside for full cheeseburger flavor.
- Swap in shredded cheddar, pepper jack, or American, or use ground turkey instead of beef.
Ingredients
1 lb. ground beef
1 pkt. lipton onion soup mix
2 tubes pillsbury crescent rolls
2 cups of cheddar, shredded
Dill relish
Ketchup and mustard
Directions
- Brown meat in a non-stick skillet with onion soup mix and drain grease.
- Add cheese to the meat and mix well. Remove from heat.
- Spread crescent rolls onto waxed paper.
- If you want smaller sliders, cut the triangles in half and put 1 tablespoon meat filling in each triangle, top with relish, and wrap edges of the crescent roll.
- Bake according to crescent roll directions and serve with a mix of catsup and mustard.
