If you love peanut butter, this bread will make your whole week. It’s a 100% whole wheat loaf with half a cup of smooth peanut butter baked right into the dough, plus three-quarters of a cup of roasted peanuts for crunch.

Honey adds just enough sweetness to complement the nuttiness without making it taste like dessert. This is sandwich bread with serious character.

Dump everything in the bread machine on the whole wheat cycle and walk away. That’s it. That’s the recipe.

Kitchen Tips

  • Use smooth peanut butter so it incorporates evenly into the dough. Chunky peanut butter plus whole peanuts is too much textural chaos.
  • Dry roasted salted peanuts add crunch and a savory edge. Unsalted peanuts will work but the bread might need a pinch more salt.
  • This makes unbelievable PB&J sandwiches. Peanut butter on peanut bread is not overkill, it’s commitment.
  • Toast thick slices and spread with butter and honey for a ridiculously good breakfast.
