Submitted by happyzhangbo
A creamy dessert salad loaded with bananas, strawberries, pineapple, and walnuts folded into sweetened cream cheese and whipped topping. All the flavors of a banana split in a bowl.

7 minThis fruit salad tastes like dessert because it basically is dessert, disguised as something you can bring to a potluck.
The cream cheese base sweetened with sugar creates a rich, cheesecake-like coating that holds everything together.
Folding (not mixing) keeps the fruit pieces intact and the whipped topping airy instead of deflated.
Kitchen Tips
- Drain the pineapple well: Press the pineapple in a strainer to remove excess liquid. Too much juice makes the salad watery.
- Slice bananas thin: Thin slices distribute better throughout the salad and give you banana flavor in every spoonful.
- Fold gently: Use a rubber spatula to fold the Cool Whip in with wide, gentle strokes. Stirring or using a mixer deflates the airiness.
- Chill before serving: This needs at least an hour in the fridge for the flavors to blend and the cream cheese to firm up slightly.
