10 hrsThe name says it all: these ribs require minimal attention while delivering maximum flavor.
Low and slow cooking breaks down the tough connective tissue until the meat pulls away from the bone with just a fork. The barbecue sauce forms a sticky glaze that’s sweet, tangy, and slightly smoky.
Whether you use your oven, slow cooker, or grill set to low indirect heat, the hands-off approach works beautifully. You’ll have time to prepare sides, entertain guests, or simply take a nap.
Lazy Griller Tips
- Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better sauce penetration
- Apply a dry rub and let ribs sit 1 hour before cooking for deeper flavor
- Maintain consistent low heat (225-250°F) throughout cooking
- Brush sauce on during the last hour only to prevent burning
- Tent with foil and rest 10 minutes before cutting for juicier ribs
